I am a designer and only have experience with building static html sites. Over the past several months I have been exploring Textpattern and several other CMS'. I have decided to learn Textpattern, I think it is a great CMS and am very excited about building web sites with it.
Since I am new to Textpattern, I would like to install a good theme to cut my teeth on. I downloaded a number of themes but they were all set up so differently I am sort of confused as to what is the best practice method of building a site.
My experiment with the various themes demonstrated that Textpattern is a very flexible system and I realise that it is probably a great asset to have so much flexibility when putting together a site. However, I would like to know from some seasoned users what would be perhaps, the most sensible approach to developing a site in Textpattern and if you know of a good solid theme that is built in this way.
I figured you would be a good source to ask before I run ahead and start rumagging through all kinds of methods and templates which could take an enormous amount of time.
I think we talked about this over email, but for anyone else interested, I think Serene (the winner) was really well organized and might be good for someone looking for a well-structured template.
